This collection is dedicated to my mother and siblings. I always carry my 2005 Canon PowerShot little camera around with me, just in case I come across something beautiful when I’m out and about. I've realized that what I often find beautiful are the people closest to me, especially my mom and sisters.
There's something about the way they are; comfortable and real.
For this project, I told them we’re doing a “serious” photoshoot and let them do their thing without giving them a lot of direction. I wanted it to feel natural and catch moments as they happen. Most of my shots are of them being caught in the middle of arguing or making jokes, and even hitting each other, weaved into some other more “serious” shots. I chose to do this to show how simple happiness can be for me to achieve, even as fleeting as it usually is. This collection feels like a peek into our dynamic.
